Historical Background (역사적 배경)

The recording of advertising history began 
some 5,000 years ago.  In ancient Greece 
and Rome, town criers sold slaves and cattle, 
made public announcements, and chanted 
advertising rhymes that were similar in many 
ways to today's singing commercials.  Signs, 
the first printed advertisements, were used 
for shops in biblical Israel, in Pompeii, and in 
ancient Greece.
