Founded in 1995, the Department of Social Welfare at Mokwon University operates undergraduate courses and master's and doctorate programs at general graduate schools. To date, it has trained more than 1500 undergraduate and 100 graduate students as social welfare professionals. In addition to the curriculum classes, semester-based deep learning, disability experiences (April), social integration programs for children with disabilities (Love + Eoullim Hanmadang, September), academic cultural festival (November), etc are offered to students. By completing social service and 320 hours of social welfare field practice, we are devoting ourselves to fulfilling the university's mission of education, research, and social service and fostering professional social workers who contribute to the welfare of the region.

The basic educational goal is to cultivate professional social workers who can lead the realization of the welfare society that humanity aims for and contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for all people. To this end, we aim to cultivate competent social welfare talents who are equipped with the qualities of creative intellectuals, field adaptive practitioners, and volunteers dedicated to social development.
