As the bio industry is fostered as a national strategic industry, the proportion of'biotechnology (BT)' is rapidly increasing. In particular, microbial resources are being used in various fields that create high added value in the future, such as medicine, agriculture, and the environment, and the demand for biotechnology majors is increasing. In this department, we are cultivating customized on-the-job microbial biotechnologists who can be immediately put into the rapidly changing biotechnology field.

For specialized education related to microbial life resources, MOU was signed with national and public research institutes and companies specialized in life industry, and industry-university cooperation education was operated.
It is structured to select the convergence major of 'Biotechnology' based on the major subjects that reflect the latest major fields of biotechnology. The major curriculum is subdivided into courses for discovering, informatizing, utilizing, and specializing in microbial materials, and convergence majors are divided into essential and elective courses to strengthen students' career competency.
